In a scene worthy of The Matrix, I felt time slow to a fractal crawl. In the Planck time separating what was and what could be, I considered the Hamiltonian and its myriad possibilities.

The observed half life of fruitcake is stunningly long, with single instances surviving for decades. This may explain fruitcake regifting, the practice of recycling an unwanted gift as a gift to another person. There is, of course, the ultimate question. Why is there any fruitcake at all?
